Annualy this event is a favourite one of runners, skiers and cyclists as well. In fierce competition in beautiful surroundings of Western Tatra Mountains Matej finished at 9. place.

With the approaching end of the season Matej participate in the interesting events in his homeland. There is a nice chance to chat with friends and fans and relax.
On 30.9. 2012 he helped his parent club Tatranské orly to reach a pretty 2. place in the refounded team time trial in Liptovský Mikuláš.

Gilbert wins. A fantastic 14. place of Peter Sagan. Matej Jurčo finished at 91. place losing 9 min. They are the only Slovak guys who have finished the race. Totally 122 riders have finished today.
16:49, 257 km: Ten to go! Unusual silence in the bunch — waiting on Cauberg hill?
16:42, 250 km: Last lap to go! 60 riders together.
16:22, 236 km: All together in the front with Sagan. The group of Matej is losing 1:30. Probably they will not try to get back.
16:13, 231 km: 36 km to go!
16:08, 225 km: Two Slovak guys in the front of the original peloton. Matej sanctioned by the crash losing 1:00 to original peloton.
16:00, 220 km: A crash in peloton! Sagan safe in the front losing 0:40 to leaders. What about other Slovaks?
15:51 : One of the Velits bros abandons.
15:37 : Peloton crosses the finish line.The gap is 0:40. Sagan concentrating in the front of peloton and waiting for action.
15:30 : The gap si still around 1 min.
15:19 : The new enlarged group in the front, with quality participatnts. Peloton 1 min. behind. Slovak guys sleep!
15:09 : There are still two groups ahead, but the gap of peloton is not more than 1 minute to leaders. Let´s restart the race!
14:54, 175 km : Who will initialize any action again? Slovaks can not miss any escape any more.
14:52, 173 km : The gap of peloton to a leaders is 1:42. 0:30 behind the second group of Flecha.
14:40, 164 km : 100 km to go! Velits and Kováč in the rear of peloton probably not for a bottle delivery.
14:34 : Peloton is slowly degrading the both gaps. Peloton vs.leading group 2:32 gap. Peloton vs. 2.group 0:50 gap.
14:26, 153 km : Peloton vs.leading group 3:30 gap. Peloton vs. 2.group 1:00 gap.
14:22, 150 km : Uups! No Slovak guy in the groups ahead. Do they sleep? Almost all the countries participate there. Fortunately Belgians work at the front.
14:08, 140 km : The gap is going down — 3:28. Flecha initializing next escape from the main bunch.
13:46, 124 km : No changes. Gap 4:28. There is also Matej´s teammmate in the bunch — Kozubek.
13:28, 115 km : A small bunch of riders ahead of peloton. Team Slovakia has not any rider ahead. Matej is in the main group losing 4:50 min.

It is a great pleasure to inform you that Matej has been nominated for the UCI Road World Championships in Netherlands in both disciplines – individual time trial on 19.9.2012 and road race on 23.9.2012 Matej will be the member of the 6-elite men team representing Slovakia.
Matej is now preparing at home for both disciplines. Despite his conscientious preparation is skeptical about the finishing of the road race on 23.9. 2012. In the time trial he will try to get closer to 17th place in 2008 in Varese.

UCI 2.2 Okolo Jižních Čech, CZE 6. – 9.9. 2012 :: with no trust for Matej
The directors of the team did not choose Matej for the international race in Czech republic, which could be a good chance to get in shape for him for the Worlds. The riders were reportedly chosen on their merit. The same situation occurred several times during this season. There are only two riders of Whirlpool Author team to participate in the upcoming World Championships including Matej. Therefore consider this behavior as totally irrelevant.

Matej finished the last Czech Cup race in Ostrava at 32nd place. The teammate Bucháček became the general winner of the Cup. The team PSK Whirlpool Author won also the general team competition.

Matej finished the stage on Sunday at 4th place in the leading group ahead of the main bunch.

47. Velká cena města Hradec Králové, CZE 17.8.2012
The criterium on Saturday in the historical centre of Hradec Králové was the big presentation of the Matej´s team in its homeland. Matej finished the race at 30th position losing the better result due to puncture again.

Matej finished at 13th place in the main group sprint.

Matej finished at 37th place losing the position in the leading group beacuse of the puncture in the last kilometres.

Cyclists of Whirlpool-Author were gaining successes in the race from the early stages. Winning the first stage (Team Time-Trial) they had to set the pace on the front and defend yellow jersey almost during all stages. But the leader from the team was changing after each stage so it was difficult to develop and keep the tactics.
Due to decisive racing in the last stage the best cyclists were segregated. Matej escaped with two other riders from the first group and few kilometres to go decided to attack again but alone. He came to square in Olomouc with a little lead. Matej´s collegue Paďour finished the stage in the first group and took the general victory.

National Championships > Road Race, SVK 24.6.2012
Matej finished at 11th place. Despite of crowds of fans by the route common championships of Slovak and Czech cyclists were spectacular only in the last kilometres.

Matej gained a bronze medal losing 1'50'' in 40 kms. Gold and silver went to Velits brothers.

Matej finished at 28th place. The bunch was divided into many ten-men groups. The route was very interesting with no need to brake.
After the race a strong team of Whirlpool-Author travelled to Matej´s homeland Liptov in Slovakia where the race Tour of Slovaquie will start in Tuesday.

Matej finished at 27th place. Riders of team PSK Whirlpool Author were succesful. Matej helped teammate Tomáš Bucháček finished second who is still leading the Czech cup classification.

The quality, fast race in France examined the riders very well. Matej finished at 41st place in the general classification with the best stage result 22nd place in 4. stage.
